Abstract—In this paper, two solutions for modeling the speed
dynamics of a car are presented, based on a linear and on a
nonlinear model. The two models are determined based on
experimental data obtained from a real car. The process time
constants are computed using an original algorithm. The
accuracy of the two proposed mathematical models is proved
through simulation and through the small values obtained for
the considered quality indicator. The nonlinear model is
proposed in order to improve the results obtained in the case of
the linear model, it considering in its structure, the gear, too.
