Abstract—Large scale research projects at research institutes and universities bring together multiple researchers from
different disciplines, with different goals together. For
successful collaboration between the project partners, such projects need to be supported with suitable information systems
that allow them to do research within an environment with changing requirements and goals. Thus the information system
needs to be able to adapt to any kind of developments during the course of the project in order to ensure efficient research activities. To successfully implement such systems in large
research projects technical solutions and organizational best practices are needed. This paper presents solutions and best practices developed within the Collaborative Research Center
2016 – Sustainable Manufacturing.
Index Terms—Large scale research projects, collaboration platform, adaptable information systems.
