Abstract—Chromatographic separation by simulated moving
bed (SMB) is an important skill for the modern material
separation process. It is widely used in chemical and medical
pharmaceutical industries. It has been recognized as a clean and
green technology in the chromatographic application. In order
to achieve a precision control for SMB, the influence and the
effect of parameters to the final axial separation is an important
study for realizing the behaviors of SMB. However, such kind of
study is hardly to implement in the real SMB system due to the
high experimental cost and the sensitivity of parameters. Thus,
the computer simulation for studying the influence parameters
to the final axial separation was implemented and presented in
this paper. From the simulation results shown, the whole study
is quite consistent with the actual behavior of SMB. It indeed
has a great help for the future’s development of precision
control of SMB.
